2027 Ram Chassis Cab Lineup Joins the Dark Side With New Night Edition Package

September 1, 2026 , Auburn Hills, Mich. -  Ram Chassis Cab joins the dark side with a new Night Edition package for the Big Horn and Laramie trim levels. Building on the lineup's reputation for upfitter-friendly innovation, workhorse durability and legendary capability, the new Night Edition package adds blacked-out details and a bold new attitude to Ram's hardest-working trucks.

The new 2027 Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition is set to make its public debut at the 2026 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.

Aligning with the popular Night Edition package offered on Ram 1500 and Ram heavy-duty pickups, the Chassis Cab Night Edition trades chrome and brightwork for dark exterior accents.

Big Horn Night package includes black painted wheels, black badging, gloss black grille nostrils, sport hood, front and rear park sensors, body color grille surround, front bumper, fender flares and door handles.

The Laramie trim level comes standard with front and rear park sensors and body-color grille surround, front bumper, fender flares and door handles. Laramie Night package adds black painted wheels, black badging, gloss black grille billets and nostrils, and sport hood.

The customized appearance appeals to Ram Chassis Cab owners and commercial customers who want a workhorse truck with bold road presence straight from the showroom floor.

The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition package carries a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $2,195 on Big Horn models with the Level 1 or Level 2 Equipment Group and $1,695 on Laramie models. The package is available on Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Regular Cab and Chassis Crew Cab.

The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition will open for orders in the fourth quarter of 2026 with availability later in the year.

Ram Chassis Cab trucks come in four industry-standard frame lengths measured in inches from the cab to the rear axle (CA): CA 60, CA 84, CA 108 and CA 120. Frame rail width also follows industry guidelines at 34-inch spacing. All 2027 frames are built with up to 97% high-strength steel and eight separate cross members. With upfits in mind, Ram Chassis Cab rear frame sections feature a C-channel design with a flat mounting surface. Zero components interfere above the frame rails, making upfit and accessory design and installation easy, cost-effective and reliable. Additionally, pre-drilled holes are positioned throughout the structure to route upfit lines or mount hardware related to the upfit.

The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab is the only truck in the segment to offer an array of active and passive systems to assist the driver and passengers. In the chassis cab segment, only the 2027 Ram Chassis Cab features adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and AEB with trailer brakes available on all trim levels.

The class-exclusive ParkSense Park Assist system provides visual and audible indications and a class-exclusive 270-degree camera system with trailer reverse guidance for a greater field of vision. Ram Chassis Cab offers a class-exclusive cargo-view camera, allowing owners to monitor their upfit and/or payload at the rear of the truck. The system also aids hookup with fifth wheel and gooseneck hitches.

Additional safety and security systems are geared toward a truck that will spend most of its life at its maximum duty cycle. Many of the technologies are enhanced, making the 2027 Ram Chassis Cab the most technologically advanced in the segment. The new 2027 Chassis Cab also can monitor up to six tires on the truck plus trailer tire pressure monitoring for up to 12 trailer tires.

The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab is built at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Coahuila, Mexico.
