Ram 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs feature the largest front brake rotors (390 mm) and calipers (66 mm) in their class+. These large components provide greater stopping power, along with reduced wear on your brake pads. For your brakes, this means longer life. For you: less money spent on brake jobs and more uptime spent on the job. If that's not enough, the Chassis Cabs boast a standard integrated exhaust brake, which reduces brake fade and helps to prolong brake life even further. All Ram Chassis Cab models feature standard four-wheel disc antilock brakes. As proof of its superior durability, the Ram 5500 Chassis Cab was recently ranked Best-in-Class+ for its combination of reduced brake pad wear, brake fade resistance, and exhaust brake performance.

    Diesel exhaust brake

    Engaged at the touch of a button, the integrated diesel exhaust brake reduces brake fade, prolongs brake life, and provides stopping safety and confidence when hauling heavy loads on downhill grades. When used in conjunction with Electronic Range Select on the available AISIN automatic transmission, the diesel exhaust brake's power can be optimized further – just like with a manual transmission.

Large size means the brakes last longer for less time and money spent in the shop. The four-wheel Antilock Brake System (ABS) prevents wheel lockup when braking on slick ground.
